The Folders panel on the right side is an exact copy of the folder structure on your computer. Create a new folder for each new date and location, so you can easily find your photos.

Collections
Collections are a way of organizing your photos into 'virtual' folders. Smart collections are especially powerful. They allow you to automatically (!) load images based on metadata criteria that you specify yourself.
